Burns Night 2025

Burns Night in Estonia – A Celebration of Scottish Spirit in Tallinn

In January 2025, the British-Estonian Chamber of Commerce (BECC) once again hosted its much-anticipated Burns Night Supper & Cèilidh in the heart of Tallinn’s historic Old Town. This cherished annual tradition paid tribute to Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, through an evening of music, poetry, and festive Scottish flair.

The event began with a ceremonial procession through the cobbled streets of Tallinn, setting the tone for a night steeped in heritage. Guests were welcomed into a warm and lively atmosphere where kilts, bagpipes, and traditional Scottish hospitality took centre stage. A curated menu featuring classic Scottish fare and Enlightenment-inspired delicacies delighted attendees, accompanied by fine whisky and the sounds of live music. The acclaimed Scottish band, Rerr Terr, led a spirited Cèilidh, with guests dancing well into the evening. The programme also featured engaging speeches celebrating the life and legacy of Robert Burns, as well as a charitable raffle and auction in support of BECC’s charity partners.

In true Commonwealth spirit, the British & Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland (B3CF) was pleased to support this cross-border celebration. Through a special collaboration with BECC, B3CF members were invited to attend at the discounted member rate, with additional accommodation offers secured at nearby partner hotels.

Burns Night in Estonia was not just a cultural celebration, but a testament to the strong ties between Commonwealth communities, uniting members from across the region in the spirit of tradition, friendship, and shared values.
