On 26th May 2025, The British & Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland proudly hosted the 8th Commonwealth Golf Day at Tapiola Golf, gathering an exceptional mix of our members and golf enthusiasts for a day where sport and networking met under a bright blue sky.
With weather that could not have been better - clear, sunny, and warm - the stage was set for a full day of play on one of Finland’s most acclaimed courses. Players formed teams and took to the greens in good spirits, with competition that was as spirited as it was friendly. Tapiola’s fairways once again served as a fitting backdrop for the event, which has grown into one of the Chamber’s most anticipated annual traditions.
This year’s tournament saw remarkable performances across the board. The overall winner was Edwin Benik, who also claimed the Closest to the Pin prize. Ben Holden, last year’s champion, returned with another strong performance, securing both the Scratch Score title and the Longest Drive. Mikko Tapaninen finished second overall, showcasing consistency and skill throughout the day. The Best Team Award went to Mai Linh, Ilkka Mälkä, and Kai Malmivaara, whose coordination and composure earned them top honours on the team leaderboard.
Special recognition was given to Mai Linh, who received the prize for Best Female Player, presented by Westerback1897, whose continued support brought elegance and prestige to the occasion. Bentley Suomi also returned as a sponsor, awarding the main prize - a premium green vented golf umbrella, stylishly branded and perfectly suited for the discerning golfer. A stunning Bentley GTS Speed was on display throughout the day, drawing admiration and reinforcing the premium character of the event.
As the final hole was played, guests were treated to a post-tournament experience that included a traditional Finnish sauna, drinks, and the much-anticipated awards dinner. Hosted by Vladislav Dobrokhotov, the awards ceremony celebrated individual and team achievements while offering plenty of opportunities for networking and light-hearted reflection on the day’s events.
The Commonwealth Golf Day continues to serve as a unique meeting point where the spirit of the game meets the values of the Chamber - community, connection, and collaboration. We extend our sincere thanks to all players, sponsors, and supporters who contributed to making this year’s event such a resounding success.
