On Sunday, 15th June, B3CF members gathered in Helsinki for a special Members Brunch hosted in honour of the visit of the 696th Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman The Rt Hon. Alastair King DL. The event was generously hosted by Rödl & Partner at their beautiful premises in Helsinki, and we extend our sincere thanks to Nora Haapala and Timo Huhtala for their gracious support and warm hospitality.
Set against the backdrop of early summer, the brunch brought together a diverse group of members committed to advancing trade, collaboration, and shared values between Finland and the United Kingdom. The informal atmosphere created the perfect setting for open dialogue and meaningful exchange on the priorities that unite our two countries.
Discussions throughout the morning centred on how to better align trade interests, regulatory frameworks, and innovation strategies across both nations. There was strong recognition of the Chamber’s role as a bridge — not only between businesses, but also between cultures, policy agendas, and emerging opportunities in sectors such as technology, sustainability, and financial services.
We were honoured by the presence of the Lord Mayor, whose insights into London’s global outlook and its continued commitment to international partnerships were met with great interest. His presence, along with that of the Lady Mayoress, underscored the enduring importance of the UK-Finland relationship.
Our heartfelt thanks to all members who attended, contributed to the rich discussion, and continue to play an active role in shaping the future of our transnational business community. The Members Brunch was more than a meal — it was a statement of shared purpose and a celebration of the values that connect us.
We are especially grateful to our hosts or making this occasion possible. Our thanks also go to our dedicated interns and Board Members whose support was instrumental throughout the event. We extend our appreciation to Bentley Suomi for generously providing transportation for the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, adding a touch of elegance to the day. And finally, we thank the catering team for the outstanding food, which brought together local flavours with international flair - the perfect complement to a gathering defined by friendship and forward-looking dialogue.
