In April 2017, during the India-Finland Joint Commission meetings in Helsinki, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the Embassy of Finland in India, the Embassy of India in Finland, Finpro and the B3CF organised a series of India-themed events.
Mr. Kimmo Lähdevirta, Director-General, Department for the Americas and Asia at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland kindly hosted "Invest in India" Round table, attended by HE Mr Ashok Kumar Sharma, Ambassador of India to Finland, HE Ms Nina Vaskunlahti, Ambassador of Finland to India, Mrs Anita Praveen, Joint Secretary, Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), and other distinguished guests.
After opening the session by Mrs Anita Praveen, Mr L. Madan KumarReddy, representative of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), MoCI, observed the business opportunities for Finnish companies in India during his presentation "Make in India / Invest in India". The presentation was followed by a lively roundtable discussion on the practical aspects of doing business in India with members of Indian delegation, representatives of Finpro, Tekes, EK, Finnish banks, well-established companies, and young startups.
On the second day, the B3CF together with Team Finland and the Embassy of India in Finland has co-organised the "Demystifying India" Seminar, attended by more than 200 participants. Greetings from Finnish Government was given by the Minister of Economic Affairs Mr Mika Lintilä. The B3CF International Advisory Board member, Dr Linda Spedding, International Lawyer and Expert on India, kindly accepted our invitation to take a part in a panel discussion. Linda, supported by Mr Sumeet Malik, Lawyer and Publisher from India, also presented to Finnish audience her book "India The Business Opportunity". Book is available online also at the B3CF office.
